ROHS Expectations Form

Fill out the form carefully for registration. This form must be completed each school year. To enroll in online courses, you must meet with your counselor to review your graduation progress and complete the blue enrollment ticket. Keep in mind that all course finals must be scheduled and taken at RHS with a proctor.

Do you understand that full-time online students must plan to take courses off campus, and that part-time online students will not be allowed to have gaps in their schedule in the middle of the school day?

This form needs to be signed only once for all of your high school career. Overage courses may be billed to your advanced opportunities account at a rate of $190 up to the amount a course costs through BYU Independent Study or IDLA.
Have you signed the Advanced Opportunities form?
Will you follow school policies as outlined in the RHS Handbook as well as ROHS Student Handbook?
Will you make adequate progress on each course, each week, and pass a minimum of 5 courses each trimester (combined with RHS & ROHS) as applicable?
Do you understand that your Final Exam(s) will be proctored face-to-face at Rigby High School during ROHS Finals Week, and that you may only take your Final Exam one time? (No retakes will be allowed and you may use one page of handwritten notes, front and back, for the Final Exam. You must complete 70% or more of your course assignments before completing the Final Exam. The Final Exam is 30% of your final grade.)
Do you understand that you can only withdraw from a course within the FIRST 10 DAYS of a trimester without penalty, and that you will receive a Withdraw-Fail if you unenroll after that?
Do you understand that if you are retaking a course, the course is considered Credit-Recovery and has a fee of $90 to be paid to the bookkeeper at RHS? (Once the fee is paid/charged, the bookkeeper, Mrs. Fenton, will sign your enrollment ticket and you will return it to your counselor.)
Do you understand the following?

Potential consequences for not meeting expectations within a trimester:

1. Meet with the ROHS Administrator and/or counselor to make adequate progress.

2. Mandatory face-to-face attendance at RHS in "Psych for Success" course. If the Psych for Success course is full, the student will take the course through RHS.

3. Dismissal from future ROHS courses. The student will not be enrolled in future online courses.

Please Note:
--Per Idaho state law regarding compulsory education and home schooling (Idaho Code 33-202), if unable to continue taking ROHS courses due to failing, the parent is required to either enroll the child in other RHS courses, transfer the student to another school, or home school.
--Students who accrue ten (10) consecutive days without progress in their course(s) may be dropped from the school.
--If you fail an online Credit-Recovery course, you will need to retake the course in summer school.
--If ROHS does not offer a needed course, that you will need to take the course through RHS or find another option.

Read the following about the ROHS Academic Honesty Policy:

Academic Honesty

In cases of academic dishonesty, including cheating or plagiarism, the student will receive a zero on the affected assignment, quiz, or exam. A conference involving the student, the teacher, and the online principal will be scheduled to review the incident and determine any additional disciplinary actions.

·         1st Offense – “0” grade, the opportunity for the student to resubmit with a 25% reduction in grade, with notification to parent.

·         2nd Offense – “0” grade, the opportunity for the student to resubmit with a 50% reduction in grade, with notification to parent.

·         3rd offense – “”0” grade with no opportunity for the student to resubmit, with notification to parent.

Note: An “offense” is defined as any instance in which a student is found to have engaged in academic dishonesty. If, during a review of student work, previously submitted assignments are also determined to be academically dishonest, those instances will be considered part of the same offense and subject to the corresponding disciplinary consequences outlined in this policy.

Final Exams or Final Projects

If a student engages in academic dishonesty on a final exam or final project, the assignment will receive a grade of zero, and no retake opportunity will be provided. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, the unauthorized use of digital resources (unless explicitly permitted), assistance from other individuals, study aids, or unauthorized notes.

**Advanced Opportunity Funds: Failing a class may have implications for the future use of Advanced Opportunity funds.

Attendance will be taken weekly. ROHS Attendance Policy: Attendance is verified weekly based on assignment submission. To be marked Present for the week, all assignments must be submitted on or before their respective due dates. Missing any weekly assignment will result in an Absence for that week. Attendance will be taken on Monday for the previous week's assignment. I have read and understand the ROHS Attendance Policy.
